France Hotel Amsterdam

5-minute walk from France Hotel Amsterdam Amsterdam Central Station

If you've visited the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, you might see the comparison with Amsterdam Central, as both buildings share the same architectural style. Besides being a beautiful building to visit, the Central Station is also an important connecting hub within the city, as well as for connections to Schiphol Airport and other cities in the Netherlands and Europe.

12 minutes by bike from France Hotel Amsterdam Museumplein

When visiting Amsterdam, you can't get around Museumplein. Here you will find the city's most famous museums:

Rijksmuseum - north side
Concertgebouw - south side
Stedelijk Museum - west side
Van Gogh Museum - west side

Besides the museums, the square itself is also worth visiting. On nice days, the square is used as a park and you will see people playing football and picnicking. While you're there, you may notice that the square has a ‘donkey ear’ from where you can overlook the whole square. Take a walk up and enjoy the view!

Vondelpark

You probably knew it, but in the heart of Amsterdam you will find the Vondelpark. This monumental park has a lot to offer. The open-air theatre hosts weekly performances in the summer months that are free to visit. In addition, the park is the perfect place to enjoy nature or, like the real Amsterdammers, go for a run.

De Dam

Amsterdam's Dam Square is the largest square found in the city. This square, which is always busy, includes:

  • Stage for street artists
  • Events: New Year's Eve, fair, ice rink
  • Palace on the Dam: reception hall and for exhibitions

Redlight district

  • Surprising: one of the city's oldest and most beautiful neighbourhoods
  • 14th century architecture
  • Is the medieval city centre
  • You will also find the monolithic Old Church and St Nicholas' Church here
